In early July, at the RoboCup 2026 World Championships in Incheon, South Korea, we successfully defended our title. This was our sixth consecutive World Championship victory, securing us the gold medal in the Small Size League (SSL) and the top spot in the all-time Hall of Fame. This makes us the most successful SSL RoboCup team in the world!

After a turbulent journey with DB and some intensive last-minute programming and maintenance work on our robots, we were well prepared for our first on-field tests at the Songdo ConvensiA conference centre. A successful test match against the formidable Brazilian team RobôCIn provided valuable insights for final adjustments ahead of the tournament from 2 to 6 July 2026.

The first official match day began with a ‘clear statement’: we convincingly defeated the Japanese team Ri-One 10–0. However, in the subsequent all-German clash against ER-Force from Erlangen, we were hampered by unexpected network issues, resulting in a hard-fought 0–0 draw. Undeterred, we secured top spot in our group on day two with another 10–0 victory over RoboDragons (Japan).

The knockout stage on 3 July was a great success. First, we secured another 10–0 victory against RoboDragons in the knockout match, before facing ER-Force in the Upper Final — a top-class, tactically brilliant match — which we won 2–0. On 5 July 2026, the grand final saw us face the Brazilians from RobôCIn once again. In front of an enthusiastic international crowd, we played perfectly and secured the World Cup title with a 5–0 victory.

Following the scientific symposium on 6 July, the tournament in South Korea officially came to an end. However, there’s no time to rest on our laurels. As soon as we return, we’ll start analysing our performance and preparing for our next major challenge: the RoboCup in Nuremberg in 2027. We can’t wait to defend our title for the seventh consecutive time in front of our home crowd in Germany.
